Fire Ants Are Dangerous

Red imported fire ants, Solenopsis invicta, bite and sting. They use their mandibles to get a good hold so that they can sting. The toxin in their stings causes pustules to form on the majority of their victims. Sadly, some people and animals have allergic reactions that lead to anaphylaxis.

The ants will look for places to get easy food and water, making water and food troughs prime targets. Since these ants will sting en masse, repeatedly, when they feel endangered, an unsuspecting animal coming for a bite or a sip could endure their wrath.

We utilize a tiny bait system that entices the worker ants to bring back morsels to the queen. Because of the time-lapse quality, this allows the workers to live while sterilizing the queen.

Worker ants have a lifespan of four to six weeks. A queen can live two to six years. Once she sets up house, she isn’t going anywhere. And she produces up to 42,000 replacements for each ant’s lifespan. If you don’t take her out, she will repopulate at an absurd rate.

Sterilizing the queen means no replacements. So as the other ants age out, the colony will ultimately die, the queen won’t be fed, and she too will perish.
