Because of its South American nativity, it is no wonder that it would seek out the most tropical climate available on this new continent conquest. That’s why you mostly only find them in the Southeastern US. However, in November of 1998, it was documented that they had officially established themselves in California as well.

So, they began the invasion as stowaways on a boat and have since spread throughout the country, biting and stinging all along the way, unlike their counterparts, which mostly do one or the other. This makes them an even more problematic entity.
